Covid 19 - Update

Image

We are continuing our service 24/7 but with some much-needed changes as follows:

Our vet care is available for all those who live in the areas of the stations listed on our Station page. Although most of our stations are now closed except for The Strand, as London is such a huge source of need, we are able to provide support still to all those in need of veterinary care and other pet needs. But those who attend our other stations have our number and know that we will refer them to supporting local veterinary practices. We are able in some cases to conduct consultations by telephone. We can also deal with repeat prescriptions.

Pet food is being delivered to locations from where it can be collected. It is important that our clients' pets are on regular, reliable, healthy diets.

Our 3 acre 64-kennel sanctuary is being used to support those rough sleepers who have obtained emergency Covid 19 accommodation but who cannot take their pets with them. This is open to UK wide rough sleepers.

Our sanctuary pet guests are not kept in kennels all day. They are outside playing and having a fun time on 3 acres of green land. Their snugs are fully heated and we play relaxing music for them.

We are supporting the London Ambulance Service with support and fostering in our sanctuary for pets of owners who have to go into hospital.

We have recently opened up our Sanctuary places to NHS workers who need help with their pets too.

On street outreach. We continue to visit our rough sleeper clients, and those without pets too, who need basic humanitarian help such as food and water for themselves.

Our vets, vet nurses, and front line volunteers are working to the best of their ability to do what they can. We are not priority for PPE. So if anyone has any spare gloves, masks, sanitizers, we would be truly grateful for them.

Finally, we appreciate any donation that you can make to help us to help our clients' pets, our clients, and those new people we meet on our outreach. We know times are hard for so many. So we truly appreciate your support.

Thank you
Michelle
